Bio

Beverley was born in Liverpool, NSW. At the tender of age of 3, her mum began teaching her piano. She instantly fell in love with the instrument. She clearly remembers the joy of listening to her mum playing the cheerful Chopin Waltz (Opus 18 BI 62). It was so captivating that it caused Beverley and her sister to put on their best sandals, and waltz together around the lounge room.

Singing was also encouraged in the family. Beverley & her sister would often sing duets to entertain their parents during long drives in the country. These sessions included songs like The Gypsy Rover, Swing Low Sweet Chariot, and Rock my Soul in the Bosom of Abraham. Their father would sometimes record their young voices for fun.

Beverley became a faithful member of the school choir and won a talent quest performing a solo accapella version of "The Lord's Prayer". During her high school years she performed in several stage musicals which included playing the role of Benjamin - in "Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat". She also sang a solo item and danced in the Christian jazz musical "The Word Made Music" put on by her home church. Her love for stage musicals grew, with her mother taking the family to see the shows of Andrew Lloyd Webber, like Jesus Christ Superstar, Evita and Phantom of the Opera.

In her teen years she completed her Eighth Grade piano exam and Seventh Grade Musicianship (Theory) exam. She also discovered pop/rock music and contemporary gospel music at this time, and began singing at the piano in these styles. Her musical influences included Mariah Carey, Madonna, Jaci Valesquez, Gloria Estefan, Tina Arena, Vanessa Amarossi,  Leann Rimes & Tori Amos . She then began performing in churches, youth groups, weddings and various functions.

But music was never considered a serious career path in Beverley's family. She was firmly guided instead to a more "serious" professional career like medicine, law or accounting. She completed an Economics degree from Sydney University and worked for several years in the accounting field. However even though she was trying to "crunch the numbers all day long"  her heart was still really in her music.

A friend then suggested that she do a course with the missionary organisation "Youth With a Mission" to help her situation. It was here that she found her true calling and vision for life, that is, to use her musical gifts to bring the gospel message of hope and salvation to the world. Due to her own struggles, she especially developed a desire to reach people who are also suffering in life. Coupled with her contact with the Salvation Army in later years, this developed into a desire to become an advocate for social justice in society.

Through writing, singing and recording music, Beverley has been able to express the reality of her own struggles and also God’s power and mercy in helping her to overcome.
Beverley now had 2 albums available.  They are:-

1.  Secret Strength Volume 1   &
2.  Escape 2 Music
